The elected president donald trump said Saturday that the former Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo They will not be called to form part of your Government.
“I really enjoyed and appreciated working with them in the past, and I would like to thank them for their service to our country,” Trump posted on social media.
Trump is considering candidates to serve in his administration before his inauguration as president on January 20.
Haley, a former South Carolina governor who served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under Trump, endorsed Trump for president despite having harshly criticized him when he ran against him in the party primaries.
Pompeo, who was also director of the Central Intelligence Agency Under Trump, he has been mentioned in some media as a possible Secretary of Defense and had also been seen as a possible Republican presidential candidate, before he announced in April 2023 that he would not run.
Haley and Pompeo could not be contacted immediately for comment on Saturday.
Separately, Trump said the 2025 presidential inauguration will be co-chaired by real estate investor and campaign donor Steve Witkoff and former Sen. Kelly Loeffler.
