Donald Trump called his Democratic rival Kamala Harris “mentally disabled” and said that illegal migrants are loose to slaughter Americans in their own homes, doubling down this Saturday (09/28/2024) the rhetoric that he himself describes as “dark” and with the one who tries to regain the presidency of the United States.
Trump attacked Harris after the vice president visited the border with Mexico on Friday and promised to do more to control undocumented migrant crossings and asylum requests.
The issue is considered a weakness for Harris in polls, which show her neck and neck with Trump ahead of the November 5 elections, but leading the Republican in several of the so-called key states.
In Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Trump, 78, blamed Harris and President Joe Biden for an “invasion” of violent criminals.
The anti-immigration sentiment, present in Trump’s messages since 2016 and in areas of the country with a majority white population and economically depressed, becomes increasingly extreme as the elections approach.
Kamala: Trump uses “the same tired script”
“Joe Biden became mentally disabled. Kamala was born that way. And if you think about it, only a mentally disabled person could have allowed this to happen to our country,” he said.
Meanwhile, Harris attended a fundraiser in San Francisco, California, on Saturday, where she said Trump was using “the same tired script” the country has “heard for years.”
“These elections are about two very different visions for our country,” said the 59-year-old former California prosecutor.
Trump, for his part, described a United States under attack, despite declining numbers of border crossings and a sharp decline in crime in general, especially murders, according to the FBI.
“They will come into your kitchen and cut your throat,” Trump said when referring to illegal migrants.

Aware that his speech was unlike those of past presidential campaigns, he asked, “Isn’t this a wonderful, inspiring speech? I have people sitting in the front row and they say ‘Oh my God.'”
“This is a dark speech,” admitted the former president.
He also claimed without evidence that illegal migrants whom he calls “animals” are going to take the jobs of unionized workers.
They “are going to rape, loot, rob and kill the people of the United States of America,” said the Republican.
