Donald Trump accepted his nomination on Thursday as Republican candidate for the presidency of the United Statespromised to achieve an “incredible victory” and govern for all citizens, since the triumph will not only be for half the country, he said.
During his speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, the former governor, who escaped an assassination attempt last Saturday, said that knew he was “under attack”, but he had God on his side.
Trump also urged Americans not to “demonize” political differences and called on his Democratic rivals to stop using the “judicial system” as a weapon.
“We are all fellow citizens (…) We should not criminalize dissent or demonize political disagreement, which is what has been happening lately in our country at a level that no one has seen before,” said the former president before the Milwaukee Republican Convention.
On the other hand, during his speech, Trump promised to finish the wall on the border with Mexico to combat “illegal immigration.”
