Former President Trump’s legal team turned over additional classified materials to federal prosecutors in recent months, multiple outlets reported Friday.
Those additional materials, including an empty folder with classified markings, were discovered by Trump’s lawyers at his Mar-a-Lago residence and later turned over to the Justice Department.
A Trump aide’s laptop was also reportedly turned over to prosecutors after it was discovered that classified materials had been copied electronically onto the device, ABC News, the outlet that reported on the matter, said.

Trump’s lawyers turned over several more classified documents last June, in response to a subpoena from the Justice Department.
Trump’s handling of classified materials remains the subject of an investigation by special counsel Jack Smith, appointed in November to oversee the department’s investigations into the matter. Smith is also leading the investigation into Trump’s role in the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.
Classified documents were also found in the private homes of President Biden and Pence. They were turned over to the Department of Justice and are under investigation.
