The order from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy cancels current or planned Aeroméxico, Volaris and Viva Aerobús flights.
It also freezes the growth of combined passenger and cargo services – known as “belly cargo” – of Mexican airlines between the United States and Benito Juárez International Airport.
Duffy said Mexico “illegally canceled and frozen flights by U.S. carriers for three years without consequences.”
The Department of Transportation noted that Mexico’s continued noncompliance “may impact the travel plans of U.S. citizens.”
Passengers should contact their airline for specific relocation information.”
