Interior Minister, Juan José Santiváñezrevealed yesterday that due to intelligence actions there is information that in the region La Libertad there are at least 30 criminal organizations struggling for the domain of the territory. Meanwhile, the president of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzén Olaya, commented that these criminal gangs have been enchanted in this town and, therefore, it is extremely difficult to combat and eradicate them.

However, the commanders of the National Police of Peru (PNP) and the Armed Forces have designed a new strategy to face them efficiently.

The execution of this new operational plan began yesterday with the presentation and immediate coupling of 400 members of the Armed Forces (Navy, Air Force and Infantry of the Army of Peru) to the fight against crime. “I am not in a position to say that tomorrow we are going to end the criminal organizations in Trujillo, that would be lying. We have here in many years criminal gangs and the work is difficult, but we trust the new strategy deployed and ordered by the high controls of the Police and Armed Forces ”said Gustavo Adrianzén.
The 400 members of the Armed Forces arrived from Lima were presented yesterday at the Ramón Castilla Military College, in Huanchaco. The governor of the La Libertad region, César Acuña Peralta; Defense Minister Walter Astudillo Chávez; and the president of the Congress of the Republic, Eduardo Sallejuana Cavides.
