A fallen tree during Friday’s storm destroyed much of a house in Itauguá, leaving an entire family homeless. The municipality did not respond to the request for help made by the victims.
Nilda Verón and her entire family were affected by the intense storm that occurred between Friday afternoon and night in the Rosa Mística settlement, in the city of Itauguá.
As a result of the strong winds, a tree fell on top of the family’s home, which was practically destroyed, although no one was injured.
Beds, furniture, and other household items were rendered unusable, leaving the family without most of their belongings.
After this unfortunate episode, they went to the Municipality of Itauguá to request help, both to remove the fallen tree and to provide them with plates and mattresses, although they did not receive a visit from any official until this afternoon.
From the municipality they had been promised that today they were going to bring him the necessary help, but such a thing did not happen, according to the complaint made to HOY. In return, the National Emergency Secretariat (SEN) went to take some plates.
The affected family awaits the donation of mattresses along with bricks to rebuild the house.
