The driver and owner of the truck with license plate D9A-474, identified as Jaime Condezo Advíncula (43), died after his vehicle lost control and fell into a river in the jurisdiction of the district of Colpas, province of Ambo.
The accident occurred after five in the morning, on Tuesday, December 2, in the area known as Quirura, where the victim was heading after leaving Ambo around 3:00 am.
For reasons that are still under investigation, the truck left the road and rolled over for more than 300 meters. When he was found, the driver showed no signs of life.
Members of the Ambo Police Station removed the body and transferred it to the Ambo cemetery morgue, where they will perform an autopsy to officially determine the cause of death.
Condezo Advíncula, a native of the town of Yamor, leaves three orphaned children.
The vehicle, which ended up in the middle of the river, was pulled to the shore by family and friends, who moved it by pushing and using ropes. Meanwhile, police from the Traffic Accident Investigation Unit and a prosecutor began proceedings to determine the circumstances of the accident.
