The fire of a truck and a minibus in the Hatillo municipal district in Azua claimed the lives of at least three people and left several injured this Monday.
A crash caused the explosion that occurred on the Baní-Azua highway section at kilometer 40. The accident involved an Elías Piña transport minibus and a cargo truck, according to preliminary information.
It turned out that the three fatal victims burned were Haitian nationals. Meanwhile, four other wounded Haitians are at the Taiwan Hospital for medical attention.
According to the testimony offered before the authorities by a person who was at the scene of the events, the aforementioned truck prior to the tragedy had collided with the vehicle in which it was traveling.
The report indicates that the driver of the truck was not at the scene of the event. It is presumed that he has fled.
In a video circulated on social networks, it is observed how the huge flames consume both means of transport, while units of the Fire Department carry out the work of putting out the fire.
