Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported this Monday that the presence of a trough continues to affect the weather conditions over the country, causing cloudy with precipitation, electrical storms and gusts of wind in the afternoon hours, temperatures will continue to be hot, while concentrations of Saharan dust decrease.
These precipitations will be more frequent in the northeast, southeast, Valle del Cibao, Cordillera Central and border regions, present until the early hours of the night.
Meteorology reported that a low pressure area over the north center of the Gulf of Mexico, with disorganized thunderstorms and gusty winds, and a low zero percent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours. Due to its current position and displacement, this system does not present a danger to the Dominican Republic.
“The concentrations of Saharan dust particles arrive in our country in different quantities, especially in summer until the beginning of autumn, due to the trade winds and the passage of tropical waves, and can generate the risk of respiratory infections, eye irritation, among others. others”, recalled Onamet.
Due to the high temperatures, the governing body of the climate recommended that the population drink enough liquids, wear light clothes, preferably light colors, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun’s rays without protection.
For tomorrow Tuesday, due to the influence of the trough and a reduction in Saharan Dust, Cloudy with downpours, electrical storms and gusts of wind will continue to be generated over the regions, northeast, southeast, north, Cordillera Central and the border area until early evening.
