Trinidad and Tobago police rescue 12 Venezuelan victims of trafficking

According to the authorities, 11 of these Venezuelans entered Trinidad and Tobago illegally and the other did so legally. A Cuban, who had a deportation order since 2019, was also found at the residence.


The Trinidad and Tobago Police rescued 12 Venezuelan women between 18 and 32 years old who arrived on the island through illegal human trafficking and who were victims of trafficking.

Local media indicated that the women were rescued last Wednesday, October 23, in an operation carried out by the local police and the Immigration Unit at a residence in Mount Lambert, northeastern Trinidad and Tobago.

The police received notification that the women were being held against their will and sexually exploited in a home and that the actions were part of a human trafficking network.

According to the investigations, 11 of these Venezuelan women entered Trinidad and Tobago illegally and the other did so legally. A Cuban, who had a deportation order since 2019, was also found at the residence.
