“We are much more feeling machines than thinking machines. Because our thinking is always interspersed with affections, emotions. Thought itself is an affective act.” states. For him, when people are not fed enough with love, the way to react to frustrations is, ultimately, violence.

The author of the book Why do we love? talks about grief and the different types of losses in the lives of human beings, including aging. “In a culture of hatred for youth, of continuous praise for youth, people are ashamed of aging,” he says. The author also highlights the importance of talking about losses and not just gains.
