The Casa de las Américas celebrated the 65th anniversary of its editorial on Tuesday and recalled the first concert of Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés and Noel Nicola, held in that cultural institution in the 60s.
The singer -songwriters Josué Mesa, Heidi Igualada, Marta Campos, Alejandro Valdés, Annalie López and Pedro Sánchez participated in the tribute, who interpreted recognized songs such as “Perla Marina”, by Sindo Garay.
The director of Music de Casa, María Elena Vinueza, said that in February 1968 a concert occurred that would change the history of music in Cuba when they met in the same stage: Silvio, Pablo and Nicola.

And he stressed that this first time he laid significant guidelines for aesthetics, ethics and ways to make the movement of the new trova.
The director of the Editorial Fund of Casa de las Américas, Fernando Luis Rojas, made a summary of the tasks and projections of the Music Office and the Editorial of the House.
He explained that the books published by the publisher cannot be fully understood without first entering music that “makes us understand and better dimensioning the lyrics of Our America.”
