Trial of the Las Torres case is postponed until March 3

One of the defendants in the case involving former Comptroller Pablo Celi filed a challenge against Judge Adrián Rojas.

The judgment of the call Las Torres case against former comptroller Pablo Celi and 11 other people accused of alleged organized crime, scheduled for February 21, 2022, was suspended, according to a tweet from the same Prosecutor’s Office. The reason: one of the defendants filed a recusal Judge Adrián Rojas.

Among the people investigated there is also the former manager of PetroecuadorPaul Flores. According to the investigations, the alleged organization collected 20% of the payment of an invoice of 20.3 million dollars that Petroecuador owed to the oil services company Nolimit. The damage to the State is estimated at 4.3 million dollars.

Those involved are also accused of disappearing glosses from contractors of Petroecuador in exchange for bribes.

The Court reconvened the parties for March 3. (JVL)
