The trial is scheduled to begin at 9:00 this Monday. of the case called ‘coup I’ whose main defendant is the Governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho and seven other people, such as former president Jeanine Áñez, who is already carrying out two other processes in parallel.

It will be the first time that the Government and the prison authorities ensure the personal presence of the governor of Santa Cruz in a trial, since until now the authorities have refused time and again to transfer him to Santa Cruz where he faces other processes. Camacho will be transferred at 06:00 from Chonchocoro; while Marco Pumari He is transferred from his confinement in the Potosí prison from Cantumarca and will be in the audience.

“Governor Luis Fernando Camacho Vaca will be transferred that same day at early hours to the place. The hearing must begin at 09:00 am. on Monday, October 14,” confirms a brief statement from Camacho’s lawyers.

The ‘coup I’ case was presented by former deputy Lidia Patty who now holds a diplomatic position in Argentina. His lawyer, together with the State Attorney General’s Office (PGE) and the Ministry of Government, are the accusers.

The Police reported that they will deploy security rings around the court. This case will take place in the Sixth Sentencing Court, which is located in a building rented by the Departmental Court of Justice of La Paz (TDJ), located one block from Plaza Murillo.

The crimes

Camacho is accused of being the author of the crimes of terrorism, financing of terrorism, active bribery, seduction of troops, improper use of public goods and services, public instigation to commit a crime and criminal association; Prosecutors asked for 20 years in prison.
