The Third National Collegiate Criminal Court announced that next April 4 the oral trial against former president Ollanta Humala; his wife, Nadine Heredia; and others involved. The Prosecutor’s Office requests 20 years in prison for the former president and 26 years for the former first lady for the crime of money laundering for the alleged illicit contributions made by the Government of Venezuela and Odebrecht during the electoral campaigns of 2006 and 2011.
In this scenario, Judge Nayko Coronado will evaluate the new evidence presented by former OSCE official Rocío Calderón Vinatea, lawyer and friend of Nadine Heredia. She is also being investigated for the alleged crime of money laundering. The Nationalist Party and other defendants also announced evidence.
The magistrate will conclude the hearing on April 5 in order to decide if she accepts the evidence presented by those investigated. In this way, on the 11th of the same month, the interrogation phase of the witnesses offered by the Public Ministry will begin.

In this trial for money laundering are involved Ilan Heredia Alarcon (brother of former first lady Nadine Heredia Alarcón), Rocio del Carmen Calderon Vinatea (former OSCE official), Antonia Alarcon Cubas (mother of Nadine Heredia) and Mario Torres Aliaga (Treasurer of the Nationalist Party).
Similarly, they are involved Martin Belaunde Lossio (former adviser to Ollanta Humala), Maribel Amelita Vela Arevalo, Eladio Mego Guevara, Carlos Gabriel Arenas Gomez Sanchez (Nadine’s mother’s partner) and former congressman Santiago Gastañadui.
