The Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of Asunción offers medical care aiming at the prevention of diseases in its former headquarters of the Hospital de Clínicas, located in the Sajonia neighborhood of Asunción. Likewise, they have a psychology and women’s care service in the gynecological area, always seeking comprehensive patient care, first consulting a family doctor who is the one who refers to other specialists, if necessary.

Currently the office work system is carried out by order of arrival, for which those interested must take a turn during the day in the box located in the access to the old building of the former Hospital de Clínicas. From there they go to the secretary and a folder is set up for them and they go to the attention of the family doctor.

“What interests us is that he has comprehensive care, so he must first be seen by the family doctor, and from there it is seen if he needs an interconsultation with a specialist or kinesiology follow-up,” highlighted Dr. González. She added that the consultation can last about an hour, since it is provided by resident doctors, who must make the referral to the tutors of the day.
