Members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) recovered a submachine gun that belongs to the Tren del Llano criminal gang, according to military sources.
This procedure took place in El Dividive, a rural sector of the El Socorro municipality (Guárico), where Operation Zaraza 2024 is deployed, aimed at dismantling the Llano Train, whose leaders are on the run.
The weaponry is 9 mm caliber and was in a state of abandonment, along with 20 cartridges and a telescopic rifle scope, according to the military report.
And in the Uveral sector, San José de Guaribe municipality (Guárico), GNB agents arrested a member of the Tren del Llano identified as Jesús Alexander Vidal Medina from whom they confiscated 47 cartridges.
In La Fragua, Losada municipality (Zulia), they caught an associate of the Irwin gang and seized 34 cartridges of different calibers.
In the Los Alpes sector of El Cementerio (Caracas), agents of the Bolivarian National Police detained Estiven Antonio Hernández Álvarez, who was transporting 25 projectiles, which were confiscated.
The PNB is investigating the detainee’s connections with existing groups in the area that promoted violence after the presidential elections.
