The Aragua Train offers the Petro administration to reveal alleged links with Nicolás Maduro and the Cartel of the Suns if Colombia agrees to include them in a dialogue table to seek peace. The member of this organization “Larry Changa” says that they seek the truth and reparation for the victims, while the Colombian Minister of Justice denies negotiations
The Aragua Train proposed to Gustavo Petro’s government to provide information about the gang’s alleged relations with Nicolás Maduro and other Venezuelan officials, as well as the alleged links with the Cartel of the Suns, if Colombia agrees to set up a formal dialogue table with this criminal organization.
This information was made known by lawyer Luis Gustavo Moreno, defender of Larry Amaury Álvarez Núñez, alias “Larry Changa”, in statements to W Radio: “If that relationship were to exist, I am sure that, if progress is made at a negotiating table, they would be willing to specify who has been part and who has had a relationship, as well as who has not had one,” said the legal representative.
The Aragua Train is a criminal organization, which apparently operates from Canada to Chile, with drug trafficking activities, human trafficking networks, among other crimes. Donald Trump even compared it to Al Qaeda for its capacity for transnational operations.

From the La Picota prison in Bogotá, “Larry Changa”, considered one of the founders of the Aragua Train, sent a letter to Petro; to the Minister of Justice, Eduardo Montealegre; and to the High Commissioner for Peace, Otty Patiño, where he expresses his willingness to dialogue.
He also credits his lawyer Luis Moreno as his representative to explore the process within the framework of “total peace” promoted by the national government.
“Larry Changa” faces an extradition process to Chile, where he is requested for crimes such as criminal association, drug trafficking and unconsummated kidnapping.
“They seek the truth”
According to the lawyer of the member of the Tren de Aragua, his representative has been designated by the organization as spokesperson to explore a possible negotiation for peace.
«The purpose is not to stop extradition or offer impunity. Peace does not exclude justice and justice does not exclude peace. “Peace is not built with silence,” emphasized lawyer Moreno, who insisted that a space is sought for truth, reparation for victims and guarantees of non-repetition.
He reiterated that any information about links with Maduro, the Cartel of the Suns and the Aragua Train will only be given at a formal dialogue table.
For his part, the Minister of Justice of Colombia insisted that his position is firm and that there is no interest in opening negotiations with the Tren de Aragua. He recalled that the extradition of “Larry Changa” has already been approved.
“If the Government listened to them, it would be a step towards regional truth, not towards impunity,” replied Moreno, who insisted that dialogue does not imply automatic benefits, but rather a legal framework of submission and collaboration, as is already the case with other groups in the process of accepting the law.
