A magnitude 4.8 tremor was recorded at 09:17 am this Saturday, October 29, in the city of Ica, province and region with the same name, the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) reported on its social networks.
According to the report, the telluric movement occurred 103 kilometers southwest of the city of Ica with a depth of 14 kilometers.
At 08:21 am another magnitude 4.1 earthquake in Ica. This occurred 77 kilometers south of the city of Ica with a depth of 26 kilometers.
During this morning, at 02:31 am, another strong tremor of magnitude 4.6 was recorded in Ica. This occurred 118 kilometers southeast of the city of Ica with a depth of 22 kilometers.
Meanwhile, at 01:10 am, another strong tremor of magnitude 4 was recorded in Ica. This occurred 93 kilometers southwest of the city of Ica with a depth of 17 kilometers.
The local authorities of the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci) have not yet reported personal or material damage due to the earthquake that occurred this morning.
In cases of earthquake, the Indeci authorities recommend acting calmly and having identified the safe areas inside and outside the home, in order to avoid personal damage to be regretted.
In addition, they advise having an emergency backpack that contains tools, portable radio and basic non-perishable canned food.
Peru is located in the area called the Pacific Ring of Fire, where approximately 85% of the world’s seismic activity is recorded.
