Meanwhile, for the liter of Premium gasoline there will be no subsidy, so its IEPS fee, included in its final price at stations, will be 5.21 pesos. For a liter of diesel the fee will be 6.78 pesos, there will be no discount, a situation that has predominated throughout the year for these last two fuels.
What are gasoline subsidies for?
When oil and fuel prices rise globally, the Treasury provides a stimulus or subsidy to the IEPS fee charged on gasoline in Mexico, with the aim of amortizing the increase in prices in the domestic market. Granting subsidies represents lower IEPS collection for the public sector.

On Friday, October 18, the average price per liter of Magna gasoline is 23.99 pesos, that of Premium is 25.39 pesos, and the liter of diesel is 25.54 pesos, according to the PetroIntelligence site.
