As part of the actions carried out by the Treasurythrough its Directorate of Casinos and Gamblingto control illegal acts in this sector, were seized and destroyed 2,338 equipment of different kinds, used to operate and market bets of illegal way.
In a press release, the Treasury reported that, among the technological devices and household appliances seized in different commercial establishments, there are: 448 slot machinesof which 292 were confiscated at grocery stores and 156 to sports benches.
Likewise, 1,035 were scrapped routers225 checks16 printers59 fans104 monitors and 192 CPUamong other electronic devices and machines confiscated during operations carried out nationwide.
Actions will continue
The deputy director of Casinos, Manuel Rondón, warned that the actions against the businesses that are dedicated to the illegal and irregular sale of gambling will continue to be made throughout the territory of the Dominican Republic, complying with Law 494-06 and its application regulations, following due process.
“This is part of the policy of this government administration, which also seeks to ensure the investment of those who contribute, in a sustainable manner, to practicing responsible gaming, encourage formal employment; contribute to treasury and firmly comply with the current legal framework applicable to the sector of gambling”, emphasized the official.
He also declared that last June they were demolished 2,793 teams between slot machines and other devices.
