The president of the Regional Electoral Court of Rio de Janeiro (TRE-RJ), judge Elton Leme, opened the election schedule in the state with the ballot box integrity test. The ceremony in the plenary of the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ) began at 7:30 am.
According to the TRE-RJ, the test is carried out using the zerésima, a document that proves that there are no votes counted in the ballot box.
In all, 27 ballot boxes were sent and brought from the electoral zones drawn yesterday. According to the TRE-RJ, they would be used for the actual vote, but they were destined for the test to prove that the conditions of use “are perfectly healthy and correct”. The process is concluded with the coincidence between the typed votes and the ballot issued at the end, demonstrating “that the ballot box is perfectly faithful in the declaration of the typed votes and in the issuance of the result”.
