Those promotion and investment strategies in infrastructure are giving visibility to the country, as a destination in constant progress, which is doing a good public work-private work for capitalizing its potential,” Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of Anato explained.

Main destination cities and variations by airport
Bogotá remains the main destination for travelers from the United States, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Canada. Cartagena, meanwhile, is the most demanded city by tourists in Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Guatemala. Medellín and San Andrés also appear as relevant cities in the preferences of international visitors.

As for the variation in the sale of tickets to the main airports of the country, San Andrés and Medellín presented the greatest growth, with an increase of 45% and 15%, respectively. On the other hand, Bogotá and Cali showed the lower increases, with 0.7% and 2.5%.
This behavior shows an increase in demand towards destinations other than traditional ones, which represents an opportunity for economic growth in various regions of the country.
Behavior in the purchase of tickets
The majority of ticket purchases towards Colombia concentrated in a short term. 84.6% of sales were made to travel between April and July 2025, while 15% was for the period between August and December 2025. Only 1% corresponded to tickets acquired for the first three months of 2026.
“This can imply that international passengers usually make the purchase of short -term tickets, that is, not greater than 3 months. And that there is very little anticipation in the purchase of tickets more than 6 months in advance,” Cortés Calle said.
