For this purpose, he brought a delegation made up of eight people. Only for travel expenses, this delegation cost the State the sum of G. 170 million. They were in the aforementioned Asian country for a total of eight days (from February 27 to March 6).
The delegation was made up of the following people; Julio César Echagüe, ceremonial director of the State, who received a travel allowance of G. 30.8 million, Laura Talavera, general coordinator of the Office of the First Lady; G. 24.2 million, Rolando Mendoza, ceremonial general director of the State; G. 23.1 million, the infantry captain, José Cristaldo Quiñónez, military security personnel; G. 22 million, the infantry lieutenant, Denis Ortíz Núñez, military security personnel; G. 22 million, Lieutenant Aníbal Díaz Areco, head of military security; G. 14.5 million, and Carmen Marín Rodríguez, Minister, Executive Secretary of the management unit of the Presidency of the Republic; G. 6.9 million.
Marín Rodríguez, was the only one who returned the per diem in full.
DETAILS OF THE TRIP
The arrival of the president and the first lady at Dubai International Airport took place on the night of Wednesday, March 2.
On Thursday 03, the audience of the first lady, Silvana Abdo, with Sheikha Fátima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, mother of the United Arab Emirates Nation, took place.
That same day, Thursday, President Mario Abdo Benítez participated, along with his entourage, in the Business Forum on Investment and Trade Opportunities with Paraguay, in The Ballroom of The Address Fountain Views hotel.
On the occasion, the national president addressed a few words to the business sector of the United Arab Emirates and the delegation from the Paraguayan private sector. Luis Alberto Castiglioni, Minister of Industry and Commerce, also provided a few words.
On the same Thursday afternoon, the President of the Republic and the First Lady went, along with the rest of the delegation, to Expo 2020 Dubai.
MEETING OF MINISTERS
On Friday, March 4, the Paraguayan Head of State, accompanied by the First Lady, held a meeting with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
That same day, Friday 04, the official event of Paraguay’s National Day was held at Expo Dubai, with the presence of the Paraguayan president, along with the first lady.
As part of the ceremony, a cultural folkloric moment was held, with the participation of national groups such as the Ibero-American Folkloric Ballet and Tierra Adentro.
