A group of dancers from the Francisco De León Folkloric Dance Academy, in the province of Coclé, have been scammed by the Smart Travel Panama travel agency, where they paid the sum of $26,800 to travel to Lisbon to represent Panama in various festivals both in Portugal as in Spain.
The dancer Lorenzo Castro, explained this Thursday on Radio Panama, that one day before the trip (July 25) they were notified that they would not be able to travel because the tickets were not purchased and that they did not have the money at this time for a refund. .
“We traveled from the interior to the capital and went to the agency, which is located in the Juan Díaz area and Mrs. Patricia Jiménez, who is the owner, told us that she is responsible, but that right now she does not have that money; all we want is a prompt response and solution to be able to go to festivals in Europe and represent Panama,” Castro said.
