Transporters go out in march to demand the mayor to withdraw the BRT works

Carriers carried out a massive march through the center of the Santa Cruz capital, demanding Mayor Jhonny Fernández to fulfill his promises electoral problems.

The leader of the carriers, Mario Guerrero, indicated that the sector is upset with the mayor, because it has been more than a year since the new managementn municipal and to date the municipal Executive does not attend to their demands.

“ANDHe said that the first day he would become Mayor he was going to withdraw the cordons and the works of the BRT, but to date it has not. We ask that the electoral offer be fulfilled andhe commitment he made to the sector,” said Guerrero.

Another of the requests is the annulment or modification of the Urban Mobility Law 1216, especially with regard to the rearrangement of buses entering the city center. They also expect to be granted the concession of their routes for 30 years.

“This is a peaceful march to demand that the mayor keep his word and give us legal security, We do not rule out carrying out other mobilizations later,” he warned.

From the municipal Executive they recalled that the Public Ministry is carrying out an investigation for the BRT works carried out in the previous municipal management and that for this reason the cordons and other works carried out for the Rapid Transit Buses cannot be withdrawn.
