Transporters from Táchira affirm that there is an increase in citizens traveling to Colombia

Transporters from the state of Táchira reported an increase in travelers heading to Colombia. They indicated that gradually increases the number of citizens heading to the border and move on to neighboring territory.

The head of operations at the San Cristóbal land terminal, Emilia Aguilar, assured that, during the first week of December, the flow of people traveling to Colombia increased by 20%.

“We have increased the mobility of passengers coming from the interior of the country who go to the border and, in the month of November, 121,534 passengers traveled. So far in December we have carried 19,157 passengers,” he stated.

They report an increase in travelers from Táchira to Colombia

At the same time, Aguilar highlighted that they expect this figure to increase throughout the month of December.

On the other hand, drivers in the state of Táchira reported long lines of vehicles in the sealing lane of the Atanasio Girardot international bridge, which connects Tienditas with Villa del Rosario.

According to a report by the local newspaper The Nationthe queues occur during the times when flights arrive at the Cipriano Castro International Airport, in San Antonio del Táchira.

In this sense, they asked that the other lane be enabled to speed up the process with the officials of Migration from Venezuela. They assured that in this way delays and inconveniences for passengers and drivers could be avoided.
