The Mexico-Toluca remained blocked until around 4:00 p.m., when the protesters freed the passage in the municipality of Lerma.
The Texcoco-Lechería route, in Ecatepec, used by thousands of people who work in Mexico City and live in the State of Mexico, was also unblocked.
Federal Roads and Bridges of Income and Related Services (CAPUFE) reported tonight the unblocking of roads in Guanajuato, Morelos, Guerrero, Sinaloa and Hidalgo.
Given the blockades carried out by transporters and farmers, the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, emphasized that the protesters belong to political parties and ruled out that they have reasons to mobilize.
Since 10:00 a.m., the organizations of the National Front for the Rescue of the Mexican Countryside (FNRCM), the Peasant Agricultural Movement (MAC) and the National Association of Transporters (ANTAC) set up blockades in the main accesses of the country to demand from the government a series of requests related to the fight against insecurity and water reforms.
Transporters demonstrate against the lack of security on Mexican roads. However, figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP) show a 39% decrease in motor transportation theft between 2018 and 2024, a period in which the crime went from 13,068 to 7,978 events.
