Slowly, this Monday night the blockade was being lifted that the long-distance carriers installed in the town of Pastos Grandes, their leader, Jorge Gutiérrez, reported that they achieved attention to two of the five demands and will now transfer their protest to other entities.

“Our demand was for the dismissal of eight officials here in Pastos Grandes who hindered everything and the board resolutions that affected us, Those two points have already been addressed, we have three more such as diesel, the dollar and the tax issue, but that is in another office that must be complained about,” Gutiérrez said in telephone contact.

Pastos Grandes is located 40 kilometers from Oruro -on the La Paz – Oruro double lane- the transporters had moved their tractor-trailers in place and prevented all circulation with the rest of the country. Around 8:00 p.m. and after an exhausting meeting, the transporters announced the agreement and instructed the blockades to be lifted.

Gutiérrez declared that on the issue of the eight questioned officials The regional management agreed to remove them from the place, although the first request was dismissal and they explained that the intransigence of officials impedes the work of truck drivers. In the second issue, these are resolutions that the board approved and that according to the leader directly affect them and therefore they requested a meeting with the interim president of customs, which was also channeled; For these two reasons the blockade was suspended.

In the opinion of the president of the Departmental Chamber of Transportation of Oruro The other three demands must be presented to the corresponding authorities.that is, the ministries that are linked to the provision of fuel, dollars and the payment of taxes.

“Tonight we will do an expanded evaluation, but from that we are going to announce the next pressure measures, so we lift the blockade in Pastos Grandes because we have partially solved our demand, We have nothing to do there anymore.“said the transport leader.
