The Transparencia Civil association issued a statement in which they strongly reject the terrorist attack perpetrated against the headquarters of the prosecutor’s office in the city of Trujillo and they demanded the departure of the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez.
In its statement, the entity considered as “another level” the terrorist attack that left one injured and material damage at the Prosecutor’s Office headquarters after the detonation of a powerful explosive, which is part of the “wave of violence and insecurity that shows the power of illegal economies.”
“The Government’s inaction is equally alarming. And its failure is due to the absence of a forceful strategy, in addition to the staunch defense of the Minister of the Interior despite the adverse results,” the statement reads.
“What has been done to date has not only proven to be insufficient, but has allowed the empowerment of actors who today have wrested control of vast areas of the country from the State,” he adds.
