MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) announced on Tuesday an update of Transfermóvil, the platform of the regime designed to make payments for public services and electronic commerce on the Island.
The new version (V.1.230417) will allow the withdrawal of cash in CUP from the CUP and USD accounts of the MiTransfer Exchange through the Exchange Houses (CADECA). As well as transfers from the CUP and USD accounts of the MiTransfer Exchange to any bank card, indicated the official media.
ETECSA specified that the request for cash withdrawal will be made from the Transfermóvil application itself, with a validity of two hours, time that the user will have to go and extract it at the CADECA.
“After that time, the money from your account is returned. You must take into account that when it is returned for non-execution of the extraction, the commission is lost, ”adds the note.
Likewise, it indicates that cash withdrawals will always be in CUP, even if they are from the USD account of the MiTransfer Stock Exchange, and a commission of 0.5% is applied to the total amount.
Last February ETECSA announced that a payment option and other electronic commerce operations would be enabled through Transfermóvil’s MiTransfer Stock Exchange, even without having Bank cards associated with an account.
This is the “mobile wallet” or “virtual wallet”, also known as e-wallet, a digital tool in which you can save money or make transactions such as bill payments, online or physical purchases and transfers.
The Transfermóvil application was launched in September 2017 by ETECSA to “facilitate service payments, online purchases, inquiries and banking procedures, and the management of telecommunications services.” However, after several years in development, it leaves much to be desired due to the technology it still uses to carry out its functions.
