The Supreme Electoral Council (CSE) announced that they will begin with the transfer of electoral material that will be distributed to the 153 municipalities of the country with the support of the Police and the Army, for the questioned municipal elections that will be held this coming November 6.
«It has been ensured that each suitcase is strictly in accordance with the materials it must contain. We have 3 thousand 106 Voting Centers (CV), the same amount as the general elections”, detailed the sanctioned magistrate Brenda Rocha, president of the CSE, on the morning of October 31. In addition, she said that in accordance with the recent Electoral Reform that allows citizens to vote with expired ID cards, the Vote Receiving Boards (JRV) went from 400 voters to 600.

For the transfer of this material, they carried out “the verification and the quality, security” of the indelible ink that is used to identify the citizens who vote. Rocha assures that this time there will be “a new presentation for the convenience of citizens.”
For his part, the Commander-in-Chief of the Nicaraguan Army, Julio César Avilés, stated that they are disposing of their forces and the necessary means to support the CSE, the transfer of electoral material “in the execution of the municipal electoral process, so that this is carried in peace and quiet.
«We will be giving protection to 300 objectives of vital importance for the country; We will provide security for the transfer of personnel and electoral material on previously coordinated and agreed routes. We will have a total of 500 means of transport involved in this effort, between heavy, light and special; 80 naval media, 7 air media, 400 communication media by command and control organization of our military units and all the 15,000 military personnel that make up this Army, which is nothing more than the people themselves, in uniform working for their own benefit» Aviles described.
The general director of the sanctioned Police, Francisco Díaz Madriz, indicated that they are executing the “Police Protection Plan for the Sovereign Municipal Elections 2022” and will support the CSE with “the custody of the CVs, JRVs, Computing and Transmission Centers, so that the municipal elections take place in peace and tranquility.

“The National Police will have 16,125 police forces, 6,742 motorized means and these 2022 Sovereign Elections are taking place and will take place in an environment of peace and security,” added Díaz.
Brenda Rocha stressed that in these municipal elections the regime has designed and made available to citizens different digital means for online verification and address changes, “thanks to that platform that was more agile, more secure, 2 million were verified. 106 thousand 164 citizens and citizens; a total of 87 thousand 191 made a change of address, managing to conform with it the Electoral Register and the corresponding cartography ».
Prior to these elections, the independent observatory Urnas Abiertas recorded a total of 1,158 citizen complaints for usurpation of identity, illegitimate appropriation of name and violation of the Personal Data Protection Law in the lists of candidacies for mayors, deputy mayors and councilors for municipal voting.
For these votes, the CSE eliminated 5,528 Vote Receiving Boards (JRV) with a swipe for the municipal elections on November 6. For these elections, it will only enable 7,931 JRVs, while in the national voting last year it had 13,459.
