Hugo Veras, calm despite the arrest

Laura Acostalawyer of the former director of the National Land Traffic Institute, Hugo Beras, revealed that her client is calm after the authorities seized two vehicles and his cell phone during the raid carried out at his residence related to the Intrant contract.

He indicated that authorities have not offered additional details about the reason for the seizures or the charges that could be related to this case.

More arrested

On the other hand, five other people have been arrested for a corruption scandal that came to light in October 2023, when the Purchasing and Contracting Departmentrevealed the irregularities in the contract for the control of the Traffic Light Network of the National District.

The detainees are Fran Rafael Atiliano Díaz Warden; Samuel Gregorio Baquero Sepúlveda; Juan Francisco Álvarez Carbuccia; Pedro Vinici Padovano Báez and Carlos José Peguero Vargas.
