A trans woman was awarded this Wednesday, March 8, on International Women’s Day, with the International Award for Women of Courage granted by the United States Department of State.
The award was given by First Lady Jill Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken to the Special Representative on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, Alba Rueda.
This Award is dedicated to those who dedicated their lives to the protection and promotion of Human Rights and assumed leadership in the defense of women’s rights.
More than 80 countries of the world participate in this award. With this 17th edition, the prize has already been awarded to 180 women.
