850 thousand people require care service. This group includes children aged 0-12 years and people with disabilities.
The National Institute of Professional Technical Training (Infotep) and the Overcome Programwith the support of Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development (MEPyD), carried out the first day of training in “Care Communities”to 127 facilitators who will be specialized in training caregivers of people with special needs.
According to data presented by the MEPYDwithin the programs Single Beneficiary System (SIUBEN) and Supérate, 850 thousand people require care service. Among this group are children 0-12 years old and people with disabilities or who require special care.
More than 100 facilitators participated in the first day, selected through an exhaustive process based on the technical-pedagogical profile required by Infotep, who receive theoretical-practical tools, approaches and methodological principles for training in care.

The event was led by Peter of the Crossdirector of the Eastern Regional Office of Infotep, and Gloria Reyes, CEO of Overcome Program.
De la Cruz reported that for the general director of Infotep, Rafael Santos Badía, care training is a key component of the Care Communities pilot, contributing to the quality of life of people in situations of dependency.
Likewise, he reiterated Infotep’s willingness to contribute to the updating and expansion of the curricular offer in care to cover all the program’s target populations. While Gloria Reyes stressed that President Luis Abinader from the beginning of his administration has highlighted that all social sectors and households in the country have to access more dignified and equal living conditions.
