The Court of Guarantee of Traiguén sentenced Emilio Berkhoff in an abbreviated procedure for the crimes of arson and robbery with violence carried out on May 10, 2020 at the El Buen Retiro estate in Lumaco, La Araucanía region.

In this case, the Biobío Prosecutor’s Office requested sentences of 20 years for those involved, for which Berkhoff risks up to 13 years in prison for the crime of drug trafficking.
The prosecutor explained that the accused “presents a current investigation for violation of the Drug Law in the Eighth Region (…). It is associated with other facts in the field of the Drug Law, which have not yet been tried.”
Before this arrest, the activist had been on probation since 2017 after the ruling of the Concepción Court of Appeals, which made this decision on the grounds that the defendant had good conduct and was already serving half of his sentence for illegal weapons possession. of fire and ammunition in 2015.
