A deep tragedy mourns the community of the La Mata village, in the town of Fortalecillas, after a fatal traffic accident on the Neiva – Fortalecillas road. Karen Alejandra and Brayan Camilo Centeno Mejía, two brothers originally from the area, lost their lives in the accident, which occurred on the afternoon of this Wednesday, November 13.

The incident and the victims
According to the first versions of local media, the accident occurred when the three motorcycles collided violently.
Preliminary information indicates that the Centeno Mejía brothers were traveling on one of the motorcycles involved and, due to the magnitude of the injuries suffered, they died while being transported to the hospital.
The impact also left two other people seriously injured, who were helped by drivers and bystanders who witnessed the tragedy.
These witnesses tried to help the injured and alerted the emergency services, which sent several ambulances to transport the injured to the capital of the department.
Theft reports amid chaos
The incident has not only left dismay over the deaths of the brothers, but has also generated concern in the community due to complaints about the possible theft of the victims’ belongings in the midst of the chaos.
Witnesses claim that, while the injured received medical attention, some people took advantage of the confusion to steal belongings from those involved in the accident. This situation has generated rejection among the inhabitants of the area, who demand a prompt investigation into these events.
