A tragedy on one of Magdalena’s beaches has shocked the local community after the death of Alanna Lapeira Ojeda, 4 years old, and the disappearance of her sister Adhara, just 2 years old. The minors were apparently playing on the shores of a beach when they were swept away by the sea.

The people of the municipality of Puebloviejo and the Isla del Rosario district, in Magdalena, fishing villages, remain shocked by the death of the girl Alanna Luz Lapeira Ojeda, 5 years old. She drowned, while her little sister Adhara Lucía, only 2 years old, is missing at sea.
The minors, apparently, would have taken advantage of their parents’ negligence to approach the sea and play on the beach, which unleashed a series of unfortunate events.
Sadness in Pueblo Viejo
Alanna was reportedly found floating by local fishermen. She was immediately taken to the local hospital, but unfortunately she arrived without vital signs. The news has left the family and community in shock.
Meanwhile, the search for little Adhara continues intensely. Since the moment of his disappearance, family, fishermen and friends have organized to locate his whereabouts. Despite the efforts made, no trace of the girl has been found so far.
The Secretariat of Municipal government of Puebloviejo, headed by Ángel González Rivaldo, has confirmed that all available resources are being mobilized to search for Adhara Lapeira Ojeda.
Local authorities, together with the Coast Guard, the National Police, Civil Defense and Firefighters, are working together to try to find the location of the missing minor.
The Magdalena community has expressed its support and solidarity with the family in this time of pain, uniting in prayers and efforts for the speedy appearance of Adhara.
