Great consternation has invaded the community of Campoalegre, Huila, after the tragic loss of two minor brothers, Yandri Lorena, 15 years old, and Matías Paredes Alarcón, 11 years old, who died due to propane gas poisoning while sleeping in his residence.

The unfortunate event took place on the afternoon of Saturday, November 24, in the Alto Bejucal village.
The minors were taking care of themselves, since their parents had traveled to the city of Neiva the day before.
According to authorities, to mitigate the heat and cool the room due to the lack of electricity in the house, the children turned on a fan connected to a power plant that ran on propane gas.
Accidental Inhalation
“Everything indicates that the cause of death was the accidental inhalation of toxic gases,” explained Colonel Carlos Eduardo Téllez Betancourt, commander of the Police in Huila.
Faced with this tragic situation, a team from the Police and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) traveled to the scene to carry out the relevant investigations and collect evidence that would clarify the details of what happened.
The family of the minors and the inhabitants of the region are deeply saddened by this loss, while the authorities continue with the investigations to determine the exact circumstances of this fateful event.
