The tragedy came early this Saturday at the home of a humble family in Río Duque de Buena Vista, province of Colón, when the house, made of wood and zinc, caught fire leaving four brothers aged 2, 4, 6 and 8 burned. years.
According to a report by Rolando Espinoza, a correspondent for Radio Panama in Colón, the father of the minors left at 4:00 in the morning to work. The fire broke out around 6:00 in the morning, consuming the house in its entirety.
Neighbors said they could hear the screams of children. The mother slept in the lower part of the house and when she noticed the fire that started where the children were. She tried to save them, but the flames burned her hands and feet, there was nothing she could do. Due to the burns and the state of hysteria for not being able to save her children, the woman had to be transferred to a medical center.
This is the second fire suffered by the Bonilla family, but this time their children died.
Officials from the Public Ministry arrived at the scene to remove the remains.
