Traffic lights were sabotaged by Jochi Gómez, according to the MP’s accusation

Semáforos fueron saboteados por Jochi Gómez, según acusación del MP

By Lency Alcántara

The company Trancore Latam SRL, headed by Jochi Gómez, committed acts of sabotage to the traffic light system of Greater Santo Domingo, according to the accusations made by the PEPCA against Gómez and shares.

“Between March and August 2024, Transcore Latam SRL carried out unauthorized installations of traffic light regulators equipped with new technologies, the operation of which is unknown to INTRANT,” the agency explained through the ordinance deposited with the Permanent Attention Office of the National District.

«This modification increased the number of regulators from 80 to 124, thus complicating the operations of INTRANT staff in its management and modification. The installations were carried out clandestinely during the night, under the instructions of Carlos Peguero,” he adds.

The order maintains that these clandestine activities caused the traffic lights to intermittently, which caused failures in the main avenues of the urban area from August 26 to August 29, 2024.
«On the night of August 27, Jorge Luis Polanco, representing INTRANT, notified José Gómez Canaán that the installation of new traffic light equipment was neither correct nor authorized.

This conversation generated an angry reaction from Gómez Canaán, who threatened the director of the INTRANT“Milton Morrison, warning that he would suspend maintenance on the equipment,” the indictment reveals.
