The suspension of traffic fines, as reported, would be temporary, and will apply from January 1 to March 31.
The objective will be: eradicate corruption in transit procedures; reorganize the traffic and road strategy; purge and sanction police station personnel involved in bad practices; as well as review complaints and reports to guarantee their correct follow-up.
This suspension does not exempt compliance with traffic regulations, so the population was invited to respect the laws to promote safe coexistence.
In the case of the municipality of Ecatepec, the new municipal president, Azucena Cisneros, reported on social networks that the suspension of traffic fines would be applied for 100 days starting January 1, this to avoid extortion.
