Traffic accident on Autopista Central leaves three dead: another person remains in vital risk

A balance of three people deceased and one in vital risk left a traffic accident registered during the early hours of Sunday in the vicinity of Américo Vespucio with Autopista Central, in the commune of Independencia.

The incident occurred when the vehicle in which the fatal victims were traveling was left on the ground, which motivated people to get out and push it. According to preliminary information, lack of fuel caused the failure.

According to the captain of the Fifth Conchalí Police Station, Miguel Jiménez, at that time, “they were finally run over by a car that was coming in the same direction.”

“Regarding the driver of the other car, the speed he could have had is being studied, but he left with minor injuries and is being held at the police station to see his participation and take statements from him,” he added.

Personnel from the Carabineros SIAT are working on the scene to establish the distances and how the events occurred, so traffic is cut off in the vicinity of the event.
