One deceased and four injured people is the preliminary balance of the accident that occurred in the early hours of this Sunday, April 10, in the vicinity of Bayamo, Granma province, according to reports in social networks of Cuban journalists and official media.

Rolando Alejandrez Nuevo, a native of Manzanillo, is the name of the only fatality to date in the events, which occurred on the central highway of the eastern province, at kilometer 727 from Bayamo towards the junction with the municipality of Río Cauto.

According to the report by journalist Baldo Alexey Blanco, from Radio Granmaamong the injured are citizens Aile Borrás Roca, Luis Ángel Sánchez Hidalgo and Adriana Quesada Del Castillo, although the medical condition of these people, also from the municipality of Manzanillo, was not yet known.

The impacted car was returning from this territory to Bayamo, specifies the information also replicated by Radio Bayamo.

The fact happens a few hours after knowing about another fatal accident in the province of Villa Clara, where four people died, including a 20-year-old pregnant woman.

The human factor and the irresponsibility of pedestrians and drivers, the lack of attention to control of the vehicle, violations of the right of way and excessive speed, are some of the causes of these accidents, to which are added the technical flaws of the vehicles and the poor state of the roads.
