Traditional Ngäbe Buglé authorities meet with IDAAN, Mingob and the Ombudsman to see the scope of the new water treatment plant

The Ombudsman, Eduardo Leblanc González, participated as an observer this Monday in an informative meeting with traditional authorities of the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca in Chiriquí Grande, in the province of Bocas del Toro where they discussed the scope of the new Chiriquí Grande water treatment plant together with IDAAN, MINGOB and representatives of the consortium in charge of the project.

Leblanc González said that he will follow up on the social commitments that both IDAAN and the consortium have acquired with the communities under the human rights approach, such as the issue of schools and some equipment donations, among others.

The meeting was attended by Juan Antonio Ducruet, director of IDAAN; Cristóbal Tuñón, general secretary of MINGOB; Juliana Salazar, president of the General Congress of the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca; Eleazar Gómez, governor of the province of Bocas del Toro; representatives of the Chiriquí Grande RB Consortium and the director of Human Rights Protection of the Ombudsman’s Office, Julio de Gracia.
