Trade sales increased 8.1% in the country

The National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) presented its retail trade report for August 2022, according to which, actual sales increased 8.1% and employed personnel grew 3.6% in relation to the same month of 2021.

Excluding fuel sales, the variation in real sales for the sector was 7.9%.

the dane It also reported that, if the results of August 2022 are compared with those of August 2019, there is an 18.4% increase in retail sales and a 1.8% drop in employed personnel.

Of the 17 groups of merchandise that Dane takes for the report, the one that registers the greatest increase in sales is that of books, stationery, newspapers and magazines, which increased by 26.2% compared to August 2021.

The behavior in sales of other motor vehicles and motorcycles (18.9%), alcoholic beverages, cigarettes and tobacco products (18.3%) and non-alcoholic beverages (18%) also stands out.
