Trade between Brazil and the United Kingdom grows 10.5% in 2025

Trade between Brazil and the United Kingdom grew 10.5% and totaled US$17.3 billion from September 2025 to September 2024. UK exports to Brazil reached around US$10.4 billion, while Brazilian exports reached US$6.9 billion, an increase of 13.3% in 12 months. The numbers are part of the Brazil–UK Trade and Investment Factsheet report.Trade between Brazil and the United Kingdom grows 10.5% in 2025

According to the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil (Britcham), the This result reflects the combination of greater exports of services from the United Kingdom to the Brazilian market and the expansion of British imports of Brazilian goods and services.

As a result of this dynamic, the United Kingdom maintained a trade surplus with Brazil estimated at around US$3.5 billion, reflecting the weight of British services in the bilateral balance.

In Britcham’s assessment, despite Brazil occupying the 26th position among the United Kingdom’s trading partners, the recent pace of growth indicates an intensification of exchanges and greater diversification of the trade agenda.

According to the document, the services sector accounted for just over half of the total exported by the United Kingdom and increased 10.9% in 12 months, cwith emphasis on business and technical services, as well as financial, transport and travel services. Exports of goods grew at a more moderate pace, 6.5%.

In relation to Brazilian exports, growth was driven mainly by goods, whose sales increased by 15.4%, with emphasis on beverages and tobacco, meat and meat products and intermediate industrial machinery and equipment. Imports of Brazilian services also grew, around 9.2%, contributing to the expansion of total trade.

The president of Britcham Fabio Caldas highlights that there was also an increase in direct investment stocks between Brazil and the United Kingdom, indicating that the expansion of trade occurs in parallel with a greater long-term commitment by companies, especially in sectors with higher added value.

“This consistent growth reflects an important change in the relationship between the two countries. Trade is no longer focused solely on traditional goods and has started to increasingly incorporate services, which have greater added value and create more lasting links between Brazilian and British companies”, assesses Caldas.
