The Mamani Mamanillo brothers They are the main suspects of being involved in an international network of vehicle theft.
The Police and the Public Ministry believe that both participated in the theft of a tractor-trailer in Chile and then they transferred it to Bolivia. In addition, they are accused of leading an armed assault against the Chilean citizens who arrived in the municipality of Challapata, in the department of Oruro, in search of their tractor-trailer, leaving the owner with a gunshot wound to the back.
In a joint effort between the Oruro Departmental Police Command and the Challapata Prosecutor’s Office, this Saturday they carried out raids on two private homes with the aim of collecting evidence in the search for the brothers Hipólito Mamani Mamanillo and Osmar Mamani Mamanillo.
In the operation, which included the participation of approximately 80 police officers, the arrest warrants issued against the aforementioned individuals were executed. although unfortunately his capture was not achieved on this occasionimportant elements were collected that could contribute to the clarification of the facts.
The Challapata prosecutor, Fernando Montaño, reported that various items of interest to the investigation were seized during the raids. at the first address an identity card and relevant documents were found, while in the second home, security cameras were collected that could shed light on how and when the suspects began their escape in the early hours of last Friday. Bullet casings and photographs were also discovered that show that one of those involved would be wounded by a firearm.
