The organism informed that the measure will reach the operations destined to the consumption of dollars for trips and expenses abroad, whose aliquot will go from 35% to 45%, which affects the tourist dollar, as reported by the AFIP.
The measure that was announced yesterday by the AFIP, became official this Thursday through the Official Gazette, in general resolution 5232/2022. In that sense, the payment of services from abroad and other operations with credit cards will have an increase, which will be reflected in the monthly summary.
The initiative seeks to “strengthen the fiscal front based on the manifestation of the taxpaying capacity of different economic sectors,” according to the collection agency, who also reported that the regulations: “exclude purchases of foreign currency for hoarding, which will continue with a aliquot of 35%”.
The regulations would be in tune with the package of measures presented on Monday by the Minister of Economy, Silvina Batakis, with which it seeks to maintain a fiscal balance to guarantee the accumulation of reserves, control the escalation of prices and meet the goals of the agreement. with the IMF (International Monetary Fund).
Even Batakis, in some of her first statements as minister, had pointed out that the dollar was a “scarce resource” in Argentina and that this currency should be used to “expand the productive matrix.”
Therefore, with this new measure, the Government would seek to restrict access to the dollar to guarantee the accumulation of reserves, which adds to the prohibition of buying tourist packages abroad and door-to-door shipments in installments.
